Airbags, window airbags and thorax-pelvis side airbags for driver and front passenger are standard equipment. The optional rear windowbags extend airbag protection to the passenger compartment.

Active Brake Assist

Active Brake Assist can help you prevent accidents with vehicles in front and with crossing pedestrians or to minimise their consequences.

If the risk of a collision is detected, a visual and acoustic warning is first triggered. If the driver does not respond, the system initiates autonomous emergency braking.

Active Parking Assist with 360° Camera (optional) provides comprehensive support for the driver when searching for a parking place and when entering or leaving a parking space as well as when manoeuvring.

Valuable assistance in staying in lane.

Active Lane Keeping Assist

The Lane Keeping Assist function can help prevent accidents due to unintentionally leaving the lane the vehicle is travelling in. A multifunction camera can recognise lane markings and monitors whether the vehicle is moving in its own lane. If the system detects that the vehicle has drifted out of its lane unintentionally – for example due to a lapse in attention – it warns the driver by means of a pulsating vibration of the steering wheel. This prompts the driver to return to the correct lane.

Blind Spot Assist

Blind Spot Assist can help the driver when changing lane on multi-lane roads. It helps the driver to be aware of vehicles in the blind spot in good time by giving visual and acoustic warning signals. If the system registers a vehicle in this area, a red warning triangle is displayed in the appropriate outside mirror. If the turn signal indicator is activated despite this visual warning, the triangle starts to flash quickly and an acoustic warning signal is also sounded.

Traffic Sign Assist

Traffic Sign Assist can support the driver by continually displaying the current speed limit, any detected "no-entry" signs, "no-overtaking" restrictions as well as the ends to these restrictions. This particularly helps on journeys with frequently changing speed limits, for instance in road construction zones. A visual and audible signal provides a warning if the system detects that a no-entry restriction is not being observed, for example.

Preventive protection measures in critical handling situations.

PRE-SAFE®

The PRE-SAFE® preventive occupant protection system can identify potentially critical driving situations at an early stage and initiate protective measures. The measures include reversible tensioning of the driver's and front passenger's seat belts, closing open windows and roof systems and – in conjunction with electric seat adjustment – positioning the front passenger seat in a more suitable position in the event of an accident.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The ATTENTION ASSIST system can help to avoid momentary nodding off and therefore, in particular on long or night journeys, contributes towards increased driving safety. The system visually and audibly warns drivers if it identifies typical signs of fatigue or inaccurate behaviour and suggests taking a break. Steering wheel movements are used to analyse handling and generate an individual driver profile.

Can help to stay in lane in a crosswind.

Crosswind Assist

Crosswind Assist can detect track offset caused by strong crosswind gusts in good time and help the driver to stay in lane. A sudden track offset of the vehicle can cause improper steering reactions on the part of the driver. Crosswind Assist can correct the course of the vehicle automatically from a speed of 80 km/h. The track offset is therefore significantly reduced and the influence of the crosswind gusts is largely balanced out or reduced.
