Liquefied gas has long enjoyed a good reputation for heating and cooking, now the mixture of propane and butane also impresses on the road. And for good reason. On one hand liquefied gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG for short) has a much better environmental record during combustion in a petrol engine than petrol. Some 10% less CO2 and significantly lower emissions of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and NOX compared with petrol engines are powerful arguments. On the other hand fuel bills are lower than those for petrol or diesel fuel – in some countries even significantly so as a result of tax exemptions.
With the Sprinter LGT you can benefit from all of these advantages – and from others besides. Because the bi-fuel configuration of the LGT drive system makes it possible for you to choose between liquefied gas and petrol mode as required. After a short warm-up phase in petrol mode you can change the operating mode at any time by pressing a button. This means that you can increase the radius of operation – up to 450 km in purely liquefied gas mode – and supply security without any problems whatsoever.
