With a fully laden van, the top speed is less important than knowing that the necessary tractive power is there when you need it. Here the different high-torque Vario diesel engines are particularly impressive.

The further developed four-cylinder diesel engines, featuring direct injection, exhaust gas turbocharger and charge air cooling, provide the 613 D, 813 D and 813 DA (4x4) with 500 Nm of torque to give them lots of pulling power from low revs. The more powerful variant of this engine, with 115 kW and torque of 610 Nm, is designed for the 616 D, 816 D and 816 DA (4x4) models.

In the top versions 618 D, 818 D and 818 DA (4x4) the engine generates 130 kW and provides the wheels with 675 Nm thanks to a 6-speed transmissions.

Of course, all the engines meet the requirements of the Euro 5 standard thanks to the new BlueTEC SCR diesel technology, and are equipped as standard with a NOx sensor for emissions monitoring.
