From the front fascia and the radiator grille right through to the roof: the striking exterior design with its specific long-distance transport style also lends the newly developed Actros a new dimension in visual terms, whilst documenting its inner strengths to impressive effect. Take, for example, the light and friendly ambience and the clear separation between the workplace and the living area. With its mission-oriented cabs the new Actros opens up hitherto unattained dimensions of working, living and sleeping in long-distance transport: All the cabs measuring 2500 mm in width come as standard with a level floor. The standing headroom between the seats: up to 2.13 m. And: significantly more room and stowage space than its predecessor. The cabs with a width of 2300 mm are available optionally with a continuous level floor or with an engine tunnel in two different heights.
For high profitability we have equipped the new Actros with a host of fuel-saving innovations and particularly economical engines: it achieves fuel savings of up to 7% with Euro V compared with its predecessor. In addition to Euro V and EEV, the new Actros is one of the first trucks to be available with engines that comply with Euro VI as standard – and with fuel savings of up to 5% over its Euro V predecessor. And the very latest innovation: Predictive Powertrain Control – an innovative system that can take the route as well as upcoming uphill and downhill sections into account when shifting, thus reducing fuel consumption by up to another 5%. In addition to the innovative technical features, services tailored to your needs contribute to the low overall cost of the new Actros: from the telematics-based FleetBoard system, CharterWay Service Complete, and attractive leasing, financing and insurance products to driver training courses that teach a fuel-saving driving style. All for lower costs and higher profits.
For a great driving experience without parallel we have equipped the new Actros with a new and innovative rear axle guide on the 4 x 2-vehicles, a precise steering system and a wider and more rigid frame. In conjunction with the standard-specification Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated gearshift and additional transmission modes, the responsive engines, which come in four displacement classes and a total of 16 output levels from 175 kW to 460 kW, ensure profitable driving pleasure. Plus, the new Actros puts many other benefits on the road.Such as freely selectable frame overhangs for easier fitting of bodies and an expanded range of wheelbases. A tank capacity of up to 1420 litres for 4 x 2 semi-trailer tractors and flexible combination options where the individual tanks are concerned increase task orientation even further.
