On this sunny afternoon the eyes of the reporters and photographers were looking straight ahead only, as they strained to see what was about to happen on the start and finish line of the former Grand Prix track in the Southern Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera. The journalists checked their watches repeatedly. For it's important to note the exact time of momentous happenings which could make sporting history. On 4 February, at precisely 13:43 hours, the moment had arrived. The two Mercedes F1 drivers, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, drove up in two Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series. They then pulled the fine, black textile cover off the new car that was waiting there. They were presenting the new F1 W04 – a Silver Arrow which will ring in the start of a new era for MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS in motorsport.
"The car felt great, I could immediately attack with it," enthused Nico Rosberg later. He had the honour of leading the way round the first few laps, ahead of his new team colleague Lewis Hamilton.
