The BlueEFFICIENCY measures are comprehensive vehicle optimisations which help save fuel and ease the burden on the environment. The E-Class Saloon combines the most efficient engines with well-designed aerodynamic and energy management measures to keep fuel consumption to a minimum.

The latest-generation CDI diesel engines combine irresistible performance characteristics with low consumption. Injection pressure has been increased, smoothness of operation enhanced and noise levels optimised – while reduced compression makes for lower emission levels.

Direct injection, increased compression and turbocharging (for the V8 engines) in the petrol engines deliver outstanding torque, output and noise reduction figures. Innovative engine technology has significantly reduced emissions and fuel consumption compared with previous models.

The E 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY can be powered by both natural gas and petrol. Natural gas technology (NGT) has become an economic, low-emission alternative.
