The Mercedes-Benz Citaro is an international bestseller: and with 3027 units sold and a market share of 16.4 percent, it was the number one selling urban bus in Europe last year, too. In Germany the Citaro maintained its market leadership with a share of 37 percent. The Citaro is driven in virtually every metropolis in Europe between London and Bucharest, and between Madrid and Helsinki. It conveys passengers in Mexico, Japan, Singapore and Abu Dhabi, and even on the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. It forms the backbone of the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) lines in Strasbourg, Istanbul and Nancy.
The Citaro is in use in 40 countries. Recent large orders for 100+ vehicles have come from European capitals Brussels, Budapest and Vienna, from Florence in Italy and from Zug in Switzerland.
