The Spotlight International Advertising Film Festival came to an end after a noisy night of partying in the early hours of 24 March 2012. The most popular advertising film festival in Germany was staged in striking fashion for the 15th time in the largest cinema in Baden-Württemberg, the CinemaxX in Mannheim. A perfect location, thanks to the 10 halls available in total, in which to stage a markedly - and appropriately, given the anniversary - larger supporting programme, reviewing the developments in creative moving images over the last 15 years.
Presented by Oliver Kalkofe, that notoriously critical consumer, the Friday night audience show was once again a real highlight: by transmitting simultaneously to two other cinemas, more than 1000 viewers were able to vote for their winning films of the 2011/2012 festival. With a total of 267 commercials submitted, the advertising film festival was significantly larger than in the previous year. It was the third largest entry field since inception in 1998.
