A new chapter written in the history of regular-service buses: the first series-production Citaro complying with the Euro VI emissions standard rolled off the assembly line at EvoBus in Mannheim today. With production start-up, Mercedes-Benz again assumes the pioneering role for environmentally-friendly buses and coaches. Based on future-oriented diesel technology, the Citaro brings emissions relief and a cleaner environment to our towns and cities. "By introducing Euro VI so much ahead of the deadline, we are bringing a clean urban bus to market which will allow transport companies to make affordable investments that rapidly help to make environmental protection more universal," comments Hartmut Schick, Head of Daimler Buses. The company has already been supplying the first touring coaches to comply with Euro VI, in the form of the Travego Edition 1.
