The new Citaro caused quite a stir when it was unveiled to the general public a few weeks ago. Trade experts are already predicting a bright future for the fully updated version of the best-selling Mercedes-Benz city bus. This future began for customers of bus/coach company Lücke-Reisen when the new Citaro was delivered on 19 September. Konstantinos Tsiknas, Head of Sales at Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches, presented a symbolic starter key to the company’s directors Anne and Uwe Lücke. The Nordkirchen-based bus and coach company is the first private operator to invest in this new Citaro vehicle generation.

The bus/coach company Lücke-Reisen GmbH was founded in 1966 by Otto Lücke and is today run by the family’s second generation, Uwe and Anne Lücke. The company’s fleet boasts around 60 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including a number of touring coaches. The services available range from school trips to club outings, and holiday tours in Germany and across Europe. The familyenterprise also operates regular services for Münsterland Regional Transport (RVM), the Unna District Transport Authority (VKU) and the Coesfeld District Caritas Association. The new Citaro will enter into service to complement the existing nine first and second-generation Citaro vehicles currently in operation.
